This coffee is sourced directly from the Lenca Farms family. The story began in 1915 with the patriarch of the family, Felipe García. Later on, his neighbors joined him. Lenca made their first shipment to the United States in 2013. Over the years, more family members and neighbors came together, now totaling 25 farmers.

To join their collective, they set standard requirements to produce coffee, the most important ones being: 100% shade-grown coffee, organic practices, and protecting the wildlife on the farms. The farm is in Marcala, La Paz. This region is located in the high mountains in the southwest of Honduras. This was where the country reaped one of the first high-quality coffees in the early nineteenth century.
